Dream Today belied market weakness to score in the six-furlong handicap for horses rated up to 105 in Dundalk.

The son of Dream Ahead picked up nicely for Cian MacRedmond and stayed on best once he passed No Speed Limit in the final 150 yards.

He kept at it well to win by three parts of a length at 20/1 (drifted from 15/2 this morning). No Speed Limit had to make do with another runner-up berth. Brushwork completed the placings in third at 7/1.

Trainer Ado McGuinness said: “To me he shouldn't have been 20/1 on the form book.

“The handicapper gave him 3lb for being third here the last night when the first and second favourite tonight were in front of him. We had a weight swing and I thought the six would suit him better.

“He travelled very sweet and we were very happy with him. He'll probably get a bit of a break now and come back later in the campaign.

“Cian gave him a great ride tonight, there was plenty of pace, and I was delighted with him. It's great for the boys.”
