The Galway Races are fast approaching, with Gordon Elliott finalising his team for the week long extravaganza.

Speaking at Killarney on Friday, the Cullentra handler shed some light on his plans for both the Galway Hurdle and Plate.

"In the Galway Hurdle, we run Bowensonfire, Casheldale Lad, who is in good form, and Ndaawi, who was second in the race last year and also second in the County Hurdle, so we have kept him for the race all along," Elliott explained.

"Relieved Of Duties likes good ground but would be lucky to get in off his mark, although there isn't a big field (30 entries).

"I'd say Casheldale Lady and Ndaawi would be my main runners."

Regarding the Plate he added: "I'd say we'll run eight or nine and I'm looking forward to running Zanahiyr, who finished third in the race last year. He is in good form and is working well.

"Down Memory Lane and Three Card Brag are others of mine with good chances.

"We have a good bunch for both races this year and once the ground is safe, I won't mind. I'm looking forward to it."
