Philip Enright was rewarded for electing to make the running when Difficult Decision stayed on strongly to take the Limerick Racecourse Vets Novice Handicap Chase at Limerick.

Sent straight into the lead from flagfall, the Oliver McKiernan-trained nine-year-old jumped well in front and had enough in reserve to hold off Made In The Woods when that one briefly challenged before the second last.

The latter, well supported throughout the morning, looked to have gained the upper hand when joining Difficult Decision on the run out of the back straight but the effort to get on terms began to tell on the run to two out and Norman Lee's charge was soon fighting a losing battle.

Enright and Difficult Decision powered clear from the penultimate fence to run out easy 12 length winners at the finish.

Phillip Enright said: “We got a nice start and he jumped brilliant all the way. There were a couple of casualties behind and hopefully they are ok.

“He enjoyed himself and jumped from fence to fence. We jumped the second last and it kind of sealed it for us.

“Oliver’s horses are in great form and Tiago and all the team are doing a brilliant job. I’m lucky enough to be getting the leg up on them.”
