Fratas third here on Monday over 1m4f, appreciated the drop back to an extended mile to land some nice bets in the Arthur Guinness Handicap at Galway.

The Mick Mulvany-trained filly was available at 14/1 overnight but was well-backed this morning and went off an 11/2 chance.

Jamie Powell was again in the saddle and he sent her to the front off the home bend before staying on strongly inside the final furlong to score by one and a quarter lengths. Bang Po took the runner-up spot with Partisan Hero staying on a further half-a-length away in third.

Mulvany said, “She ran well here the other night. I thought we might have gone a little bit too far with her then and it was a very hot race, a better class of a handicap.

“Dropping her back tonight she seemed to do things right and got things her own way. She got an ideal run for Galway and the young fella have her a great ride, he did everything right.

“The lads got him to ride her the other night and they said to try and book him again for tonight so we're delighted things worked out.

“She's after having three quick runs so we'll be giving her a little break.”

The going was changed to yielding before this race following persistent rain.
