The seven-day Galway Festival looks set to get off to a mainly dry start this evening with the going unchanged at the Ballybrit track.
The going on the Flat course is currently described as good to yielding, while the National Hunt remains good.
Selective watering will take place on the chase course this morning, while the weather forecast is for showers tonight with approximately 6mm of rain anticipated.
The feature on day one of the Festival is the Connacht Hotel (QR) Handicap with total prize-money of €120,000 and a maximum field of 20 set to go to post.
The first of this evening's seven races is scheduled for 5.20pm.
