Game On opens his account for Galway Plate winning team The familiar colours of last years Galway Plate winner Pinkerton were carried to victory by Game On in the opening Randox Maiden Hurdle at Downpatrick. Like the former, Game On, who is owned by Philip Polly, is also trained by Noel Meade. With jockey Donagh Meyler in the saddle, the winning connections from Ballybrit last summer were reunited. Prominent throughout, Meyler chased leader Mister Frostie for much of this contest. Travelling easily on the approach to the final flight, Game on headed the latter and Penny Express before kicking on up the hill. At the finish, the well backed 5/6f had four-and-a-half lengths to spare over Fool Me Once, with Penny Express back in third place. Noel Meade said: "It was a good horse (Toad Hall) we followed the last day and he kind of dragged us out and it kind of half killed him, so we said today we wouldn't just send him as far out. "I think we will go straight over fences with him now. He's a real fast-ground horse, he jumps very well." Additional reporting by Michael Graham.
