Grizabella came from last to first when getting up close home to land the Fairyhouse Summer Season Claiming Race at Fairyhouse.

Colin Keane was content to look on from the rear early on, as favourite Carlton Gardens made the running. The latter was beaten early in the straight when first, Golden Ticket and then Brown Eagle arrived with strong challenges.

However, the champion jockey was the last to play his cards, producing the Jack Davison trained filly with a winning run down the outside of the field.

The pair had to work harder than expected in order to get the better of Billy Lee on Brown Eagle but that they did eventually do by half a length.

Winning rider Colin Keane said; “Jack said he was stepping her up in trip for the first time to give her a chance.

“She's a filly that travels very strong but doesn't find as much off the bridle. They went along nicely, she travelled into it well and she battled hard when we needed her. She was a nice winner at the line.”
