After saddling a double in Wexford yesterday, Henry de Bromhead gave an update on some of his Galway contenders including Gameball who is a single-figure price for the €270,000 Grade 3 Guinness Galway Hurdle Handicap.
Gameball has been placed in his last couple of outings over flights, when third in a novice hurdle at Punchestown and second in a handicap hurdle at Kilbeggan.
The trainer said of the lightly-raced sort: "Gameball is in good form and ran a nice race at Kilbeggan the other day.
"Pace and experience could be an issue for him, but we definitely feel it is worth rolling the dice."
The six-year-old gelding has a Ballinrobe bumper and a Punchestown maiden hurdle in his locker.
He holds a strong clutch of entries in the €270,000 Grade 3 Tote Galway Plate and added: "All my three Plate entries are in good form.
"Downmexicoway seems really well and had a good run in Cheltenham, so we specifically put him away for this.
"Gorgeous Tom is in really good form and had some really nice runs in good handicaps last year, so hopefully he could run well.
"Nouvotic won very well in Punchestown and ran well in Wexford the other day, so he is another going to the Plate with a live chance.
"I don't put Darragh (O'Keeffe, stable jockey) on any horse, so he picks and hasn't told me yet which one he'll ride."
