Trainer Michael Hourigan is looking forward to the four-day Limerick Christmas Racing Festival. It is a meeting that he has had great success at down through the years. He's hopeful that trend can continue next week.

"It’s just a great festival. In the earlier days you trained your horses to win in Limerick because you were local and you wanted winners there over the Christmas," reflected Hourigan.

"Any day there would be a meeting in Limerick you’d try to tune one up to have it ready for the day."

Looking ahead the Patrickswell handler said: "Hash Brown will run a big race. He’ll be in the veteran’s race. He’s been a very good horse. If he handles the ground which he just might this time — he’s fresh and well in himself to run a big race.

"If I run Elusive Star, a horse that won a point-to-point in October, in a two and a quarter mile bumper, he’ll run a big race also."
