Hunters Yarn won the Leinster Reinforcements & Brazil Piling(Pro/Am) INH Flat Race, the final race of the Easter Festival at Fairyhouse.

Ridden by Patrick Mullins for his father Willie, the five-year-old had to dig deep to eventually get his head in front in a ding dong battle.

A bumper winner for previous trainer Pat Doyle last year, he had disappointed over hurdles on his stable debut before returning to win a decent bumper at Limerick.

“He did that nicely and he has improved the whole spring,” said Mullins.

“He's going to be a really nice prospect going hurdling next season.

“He jumps well, he won his point-to-point. We were going to go hurdling this season but it got a bit late and we decided to try and win a winners bumper, he's won a nice one here.

“We'll probably put him away now.”
