Jessica Harrington and Shane Foley completed a 122/1 treble when Irish Lullaby ran out a very game winner of the Eventus Handicap.

The grey daughter of Nathaniel, already successful at Sligo and Killarney this season, was being driven along in fourth on the home turn and seemed to have plenty on her plate at that stage.

She responded very well to Foley’s urgings, though, and as the runners climbed the hill to the line she stayed on best to collar the 15/8 favourite Common Practice close home. A head was the margin of victory with War Correspondent who rolled around under pressure when having every chance in the final furlong, just a neck further back in third.

Trainer and jockey were on the mark earlier with Pivotal Trigger and Dairerin

Harrington said: "She didn't like the track very much but when she got to the rising ground she put her head down and is a tough lady.

"It was a big ask (under her 7lb Killarney penalty) for a three-year-old and she has come a long way but is a great stayer. We might go looking for black-type now."
