Joseph O’Brien struck for third time on the day, whilst it was also at hat-trick for Wayne Lordan, as Music To My Ears landed the TRM Fillies Handicap at the Curragh.

O’Brien won the opener at Tipperary earlier in the afternoon, a success he shared with Music To My Ears’ owner, J P McManus, as King Pellinor did the needful under Mark Walsh.

O'Brien also landed the proceeding race at the Curragh with Gee Rex under Declan McDonogh,

Meanwhile Lordan has been making hay at HQ already with O’Brien’s father Aidan, winning on Merchants Quay and Delphi

Lordan gave 16/1 chance Music To My Ears a patient steer, delivering her to perfection to touch off Siamese by a head.

Lynn Brit Cabin was eye-catching in third, a length and three parts back, considering the serious trouble she encountered in running.

“It was a good performance. She ran a bit too free here last time,” said O'Brien.

“I said to Wayne to put her to sleep today and have her coming home. He gave her a fantastic ride.

“I suppose being a filly with a good pedigree, and after winning a good pot today, we'll try and get some black-type. We'll see what the handicapper does.”

The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Brook On Fifth ridden by S.M. Crosse, Lynn Britt Cabin ridden by C.D. Hayes and Wild Cherry ridden by S.P. Davis, where it appeared that Lynn Britt Cabin got tight for room and checked.

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned.

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that S.P. Davis was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard cautioned him.

The Stewards requested a report from Joseph Patrick O'Brien, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Music To My Ears, placed first, as compared with its recent form.

Joseph Patrick O' Brien reported that his charge ran too keen on its last run.

Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Stewards requested a report from J.P. Murtagh, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Siamese (USA), placed second, as compared with its recent form.

J.P. Murtagh reported that his charge ran too fresh and was pulling hard on its last run while she was much more relaxed today.

Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation offered.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Brook On Fifth, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
