Galileo Chrome missed engagements in the Irish Derby and Listed Nijinsky Stakes but made no mistake when setting foot in Leopardstown today.

A stone bruise ruled him out of the blue-riband at the Curragh while a temperature saw him swerve the Listed race in Leopardstown.

All was clearly well with the Australia colt today who was soon prominent in second behind Mosala in this 10-furlong race.

He took a narrow lead at the halfway stage and was still swinging away coming to the final quarter of a mile as Mosala felt the heat.

Galileo Chrome was clear a furlong and a half down with Masteroffoxhounds picking up the chase in second.

The latter could make no impression, though, as Galileo Chrome galloped in six lengths to the good.

He was returned the 4/7 favourite having been backed at 11/8 this morning. Masteroffoxhounds kept on without ever threatening at 5/1.

Assistant trainer Brendan Powell said: “That was nice. Shane said he got a little bit lonely in front, it was only his third run and he's still a bit green.

“He said they went a nice gallop and that he's got pace and stays well. You'd like to think he's got a big future.

“His form is rock solid. He did it nicely at the Curragh after getting into all sorts of trouble and that has turned out a helluva race.

“He's a lovely big horse and he can only improve again.

“I don't know what sort of a rating he's going to have but he won't be running in handicaps anyway. We'll see where he goes now.

“Joseph (O'Brien) has taken his time with him and it'll pay off in the long run.”

This gave O'Brien a Foxrock double as also trained the winner of the opener, Federal
