One Smack Mac in Jersey Stakes mix Placed on recent starts at Cork and Naas respectively, One Smack Mac will bid to get a second career success to his name in the Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot this afternoon. A winner on debut in May of last year, the Ger Lyons-trained bay was beaten by just half-a-length when last seen in Listed company. "If you are not in, you can't win," assistant trainer Shane Lyons commented. "He is not a million miles away on his rating. "A fine, big horse and doesn't want extreme ground. They are doing a good job over there by all accounts to keep it (ground) safe. "He has travelled over well and if he finished in the first half dozen, it would be a great run for him." Other Irish-trained representatives in this Group 3 heat are Saracen, California Dreamer and Commanche Brave, with Ryan Moore booked to partner the Donnacha O'Brien-trained latter.
