Our experts Paddy Flood, Johnny Ward and Emma Nagle previewed Wednesday's Tote Galway Plate on our recent Preview Show and highlighted their selections in a typically competitive battle.

Paddy Flood's Tip

Anyway

The horse I like in it is Ken Budds’ Anyway. He has Derek O' Conor riding. He was a very interesting second in the beginner's chase there last year. He has a bit of course form and his form plays in around Nurbrurgring.

He's a seven-year-old and should be well able for it. I'd love to see Ken win it - a smaller trainer but Ken is a really good trainer.

he's everyone to one shot there or boils for could be a nice each-way shout there.

Johnny Ward's Tip

Down Memory Lane

My main selection is actually Down Memory Lane, who looked very, very impressive when he beat King of Kingsfield at Navan as a 7-1 shot in that traditionally hot beginner's chase in November.

Then he ran behind L’eau Du Sud at Sandown when he was outpaced and didn't run badly behind Lecky Watson. Obviously disappointing at Fairyhouse but he's my type of profile for this race; a second season novice who might have a bit in hand and he won a point-to-point

I'd imagine stepping up in trip, he looks a very decent horse and Mark Walsh rides him.

Emma Nagle’s Tip

Jazzy Matty

I'm a big fan of Jazzy Matty. I know he's climbing up the handicap now. He was up seven pounds since he won the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival and is trying a new trip for the first time.

He hasn't gone this far in his life but he shapes like a horse who might even improve stepping up in trip and I think the jockey booking has to be a massive plus - Harry Cobden coming over to ride for Cian Collins. He's a horse who has been improving no end since joining Cian.

Obviously part of that big Michael O' Sullivan double at the Cheltenham Festival. He's a horse that plenty of people have fond memories of.

This seems to have been his long-term target since he won at the Cheltenham Festival. I think the test of Galway might suit him and he's tactically versatile. He's a nice each way shout for Cian Collins at 9-1.

Johnny Ward’s other Wednesday Tips

Shoda, 8.20 Galway, 2m. 110yds. Flat Handicap

Shoda is an interesting horse running in the 8.20. Owned by a neighbour of mine from home, Ray Grehen, and a Galway man obviously. So he would love a winner at the festival.

She won the mile and a half amateur riders race at the track in September last year and ran some good races afterwards.

I definitely thought stepping up to two miles would suit and she’s running off 78 for Joseph O'Brien and Dylan Browne McMonagle.

Zanndabad, 5.05 Galway, 2m. 6f. Maiden Hurdle

I'm interested in Zanndabad. He's also entered in the feature handicap hurdle on the Saturday. Off the top of my head he might just need to win to get in.

He's taking on Hiphop De Loire who might be hard to beat but he's only rated 115 but he's surely a lot more to offer over hurdles given his flat form and Harvey's been having a good run of it.
