Drumgill wore down Net Boy to take the honours in the BoyleSports Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap Hurdle over an extended two-miles-one-furlong at Ballinrobe.

Net Boy soon moved into the lead before the second flight and was clear after the third. Drumgill hung in there in a clear second, though, and Daniel King chipped away at the deficit.

He had the leader in his sights over the last and came to claim him in the closing stages, The 3/1 winner went on by five and a-half lengths from the 13/8 favourite. Mercury Mission (9/2) was three and a-half lengths away in third.

John Ryan said: "He was a wrong price and he should have been 4/6! I don't care how good the other horse (Net Boy) is, he is a class horse and is only six.

"Menorah is in his direct pedigree and he is also related to Constitution Hill.

"He is going for the Galway Blazers now.

"I am a hurling man all my life and Sunday (Tipperary's win in the All-Ireland final) was brilliant. My jockey Dan King is a Cork chap and we were both at the match. I was sorry for him, but gave him some slagging!"

Drumgill was second in the Mayo National at this track in May.
