Jessica Harrington will look at all the options, including a Derby trial for Sprewell, who impressed on his seasonal bow at Naas on Sunday.

A three-year-old son of Churchill, he got off the mark at the third attempt, staying on well in the one-mile Naas Median Auction Race to beat Zoinnocent by a length.

Shane Foley’s mount had previously finished runner-up to Sierra Blanca over the same course and distance in November.

Sprewell coped admirably with the heavy ground and Harrington seems set to pitch him into deeper waters next time.

She said: “I’m delighted with him, absolutely delighted.

“He was a nice horse last year and he has strengthened up over the winter.

“Maybe he will go to a trial somewhere. We’ll see how he comes out of the race and we’ll have to talk to the owner and then see where we go.”
