Cadillac in first time blinkers, bounced back to his best in the Glencairn Stakes.

The Jessica Harrington trained four-year-old won the International Stakes at the Curragh last June, but put in some disappointing efforts in five starts since.

Backed from 16/5 to 9/4, the son of Lope De Vega raced in third on the outer under Shane Foley, coming with his challenge from the two furlong pole.

Soon pushed along to lead, he quickly went a few lengths clear and was ridden out inside the final furlong, coming home three-and-a-quarter lengths to the good in the colours of Alpha Racing 2020. Georgeville (3/1 from 9/4) finished second under Colin Keane for Ger Lyons, while Patrick Sarsfield (6/4f) faded tamely in the straight and was last of the six.

Assistant trainer Kate Harrington said: "Shane said it is the first time he has given him a feeling like that in a while.

"His first run of the season was good and we were scratching our heads a bit the last day. We thought we had him back today, and I loved the way he quickened up and put the race to bed.

"He's actually heading to the Ascot Sale and he'll be entered in the Wolferton on the Tuesday (at Royal Ascot). We normally always sell everything in that syndicate at the end of their three-year-old career but, with him, we said we would keep him on and run him in the spring. It was always the plan to go to the Ascot Sale with him.

"If anybody wants to have a runner in Ascot, that's where he is going! The conditions of the Wolferton really suit him.

"He loved that good ground there today as well."

STEWARDS REPORT

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Patrick Sarsfield (FR), trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
