Trainer Ger Keane is hopeful that one of his stable stars, War Rooms, can play a leading part in the featured Connacht Hotel (Q.R.) Handicap at Galway on Monday evening.
No stranger to success at the festival, the Meath man was quietly confident when speaking to Dave Kenna on Friday:
"We'd be hoping for a good run. He has plenty of weight as he's a highly rated horse. His three runs for us have been good. He's improved with every run I think.
"He ran a nice race at Ascot and, we think he's come out of it very well. Hopefully he's improved again. It's probably a big ask with the weight but it's all about if he handles the track and everything goes right on the day we hope he'll run a big race.
"He's a highly raced horse. He cost a lot of money. He was third in the Dante as a young horse. We'd be hoping he's a stakes horse in a handicap.
"He probably wants a good gallop and he'll be coming off the pace a bit. You need a lot of luck around there and things to go right. We have a good man on his back anyway (Finny Maguire) so hopefully he'll be able to get a good run for us."
