Mattie's Mountain has yet to visit a winner's enclosure but registered a second course victory at Fairyhouse today as the Eoin McCarthy trained, well-backed 9/4 favourite (from 100/30) landed the Irish Racing Industry Fundraiser Handicap Hurdle under jockey Kevin Brouder.

The son of Mountain High previously won over today's same course and distance in November but was dismounted on the track following the race, as he suffers from an overheating issue.

Today, under Brouder, he edged right in the closing stages when beating Dont Go Yet by three parts of a length and while the incident necessitated a stewards' enquiry, the result was left unchanged although Brouder picked up a two-day suspension for careless riding.

Mattie's Mountain was again dismounted on the track today and walking in following the race Brouder stated “he's fine - he just wobbles around a bit after races and it was the same when he won here last time."
