Silvertown continued a great afternoon for Gavin Cromwell at Navan making it three wins in the opening four races for the local trainer by taking the P.S. Supplies Doors & Floors Handicap Hurdle.

Cromwell earlier took both divisions of the four-year-old maiden hurdle with the Luke Dempsey-ridden pair Vera Verto (1/1fav) and Global Export (4/6fav), and this time it was Keith Donoghue in the saddle.

The 10/1 shot made headway on the outer early in the straight of this 2m4f event, and jumped to the front at the final flight before keeping on well to score by three quarters of a length. Sparkling Stars took the runner-up spot, with the always prominent Difficult Decision a further three and three quarter lengths away in third.

Silvertown’s only previous win came on the Flat at Tipperary as a three-year-old for Andy Oliver.

Cromwell said, "I'm delighted to see him win because he's been banging on the door and his owner Derek Twiss has been very patient.

“I thought he would have won a race long before now. We'll see what the handicapper does with him now.

“Keith said he was much sweeter today than he was last time. It was just too deep last time, I thought he'd be okay on it but he clearly wasn't.

“He's a big horse and has youth on his side so he'll be alright.”
