A three-race maiden running in her first handicap, Pretty Omagh Girl (11/1) dominated from the front in the Velo Coffee Handicap over a mile at the Curragh.

The daughter of Shaman was still travelling well and had a handy lead under Ben Coen two furlongs out, as all the other jockeys were getting to work, and was ridden out to score by four and a-quarter lengths from market leader Summer Island

Winning trainer Andy Oliver, based in Caledon Co Tyrone, said "She had a couple of nice runs last year, but is a filly who we just held on to. Ben said she relaxed in front, that she jumped out as nothing was going on and it was a good performance.

"I was surprised as I thought she would need the run but she jumped well, got a nice position and just kept going. She had lovely runs last year but took a bit of settling and Ben did a good job with her today and knew what he was doing.

"Being lovely ground here, it is a great place to get them started for the year and that was our thinking coming. She was obviously in better shape than we thought. We'll see where we go now and see what's available."
