The Danny Boy Bookmaker Handicap Hurdle went to the 9/4 favourite The Grey Lad who provided in-form trainer Paul Flynn with another winner.

Touched off on handicap debut at Naas two runs back, the Famous Name gelding made no mistake this time. He led after two out under 7lb claimer Gary Noonan and stayed on well to account for Wild Caprice by five and a half lengths. Big-priced pair Keepthefaithinme and Falco Du Sauzay completed the frame.

Flynn said: "I think on his Naas run he was entitled to win it. I think he has improved from Naas and I gave the wrong instructions in Fairyhouse.

"I'm just sorry for Barry Browne who has done all the work with him as he couldn't be here today. He was in Tramore for his boss and he got a bad fall to top it off, I hope he's okay.

"It was a low-grade win but nice to get it. I thought he would win and he (Gary Noonan) gave him a great ride."
