The dual Cheltenham Festival winner Jazzy Matty is preparing to take on the Galway Plate at Ballybrit next week, aiming to build on an impressive career despite recent setbacks.

Jazzy Matty Targets Galway Plate Glory

Already a dual Cheltenham Festival winner, Jazzy Matty will bid to add the Galway Plate to his resume at Ballybrit next week.

Disappointingly pulled up when sent off favourite over flights at Punchestown in May, the Cian Collins-trained six-year-old now heads west in search of a sixth career win.

Collins Confident Plate Conditions Will Suit

"Jazzy Matty will run in the Galway Plate and that has been the plan all along, so hopefully it works out," Collins revealed.

"His last run was over hurdles at the Punchestown festival, he is back now after having a break and I think the Plate should suit him.

"Hopefully he'll get nice ground and I'm definitely hoping for a good run. Who we get to ride will probably depend on what Gordon (Elliott) runs and which jockeys become available."
