Timurshah brings up hat-trick with easy Ballybrit win

Having won both previous starts for trainer Aidan Melia, Timurshah brought up the hat-trick when easily landing the EASYFIX Iggy Daly Handicap Hurdle at Galway.

Despite being raised a total of 16lb for those aforementioned wins, the gelding showed that he was still some way ahead of the handicapper with an authoritative display under Conor Smithers.

Sitting second for most of the race, Smithers went on at the penultimate flight, powering clear on the five-year-old to record a six-and-half length win.

“I’m delighted with him,” said Melia.

“They are all good when you are going good and when they go bad then you’re only an eejit!

“Conor gets on well with him. Once the horses are ready and they do what they’re told on them it works out sometimes.

“If it doesn’t work out it’s not their fault, it’s the horse, there is only so much they can do on them.

“He’s in again here on Friday. We’ll see how he is in the morning, that’s all we can do.”
