Timurshah doubles up for week A winner at the start of the week at the Festival, Timurshah (7/2) recorded his fourth success in a row by taking Galway’s final-day opener, the Adare Manor Opportunity Handicap Hurdle over two miles. Conor Smithers settled his mount slightly further back than on Monday, before making smooth headway to hit the front jumping the last. He was soon ridden clear to score by five lengths from the front-running Castleheath. The son of Mastercraftsman, is trained by Aidan Melia who has overseen all of the gelding’s victories and his rise through the grades. Conor Smithers commented afterwards how, "To be fair, he was a getting a bit keen early. I was just desperate to get in and get a bit of cover. As soon as I did, he switched off. Down the hill, it got a bit tight again. Thankfully, he's a good hardy sort and he was able to move one or two out of his way. He put the race to bed well in the straight, so I'm delighted with him."
