Shane Foley and Jessica Harrington bagged a treble at Cork tonight when Viareggio ran out a game winner of the featured Irish Stallion Farms EBF Premier Nursery.

The Caravaggio filly went to post an 11/2 shot in the €30,000 seven-furlong contest to add to the victories of stable-mates Confident Star and Trevaunance

Foley tracked front-runner Swift One on the far side, before asking his mount to hit the front passing the two pole. Nectarine and then Dickochea threw down strong challenges in the closing stages with the later just held by a head at the line.

Viareggio had been fourth on her debut before two mid-division finishes in maiden company. She sported a visor for the first time today.

Stable representative Richie Galway, son-in-law of the trainer, quipped”- "This is working out well!

“The experience and her runs have helped her as she is learning on the job. She was tough and I thought Shane gave her a lovely ride - he gave her daylight, got her on the front.

“She seemed to be enjoying herself and he held on to a little bit.

"She was the one horse tonight we thought didn't want the rain, as he wouldn't want it any slower. She hasn't won too far in her grade, we'll see what the options are and it was nice pot for Alpha Racing to win."
