Vincent Finegan’s Tips - Ireland

Jacovec Cavern 4.35 Cork, Saturday

Racing Again May 20th Maiden Hurdle

Form figures of 0F0 may not scream winner, but Jacovec Cavern has an outstanding chance here given a clear round of jumping. He was six lengths clear when falling at the last in a handicap hurdle over this course in March and a late mistake ended his challenge at Wetherby just one week later. Given a short break and now stepping up to three miles it will be disappointing if he can't get the job done in this average maiden.

Tawaazon 3.10 Naas, Saturday

TRM Kurasyn Handicap

Eight time winner Tawaazon has been gradually working his way back into form and despite a poor record at Naas is worth a small each-way interest in this six furlong handicap. He showed up well in a seven furlong contest at the Curragh on Monday, leading entering the final furlong before finishing fourth under today's rider. His rating has fallen 25 lbs in the last year and he should strike again soon.

Stephen Harris’ Tip - UK

Our Champ, 1.35 Haydock, Saturday

Swinton Handicap Hurdle

Chris Gordon’s handicapper returned to form under a very aggressive ride at Plumpton last time out, and more patient tactics can see him regain the winning thread (yard in the winners with two in the last week). Regular rider Freddie Gordon takes off a handy 3lb, and the drying ground conditions should play to his strengths from a workable mark.
