Navan stages a high-class flat card this afternoon, with the Vintage Crop Stakes the highlight of a trio of listed races.

While it is still early days in the new season, we are beginning to see the emergence of some leading horses.

Dual Irish St Leger winner Search For A Song is the star name in action on the day. Dermot Weld will undoubtedly have some bigger targets in mind later in the campaign but is sure to have the top stayer primed for this return.

However, history has shown that she isn't always at her best first time out, so it could pay to look elsewhere. Sunchart has a bit to find with the principals here but shaped well on his reappearance at Gowran recently and could have a crucial edge in terms of race fitness. Straight Answer could have a more straightforward task in the Committed Stakes earlier in the afternoon.

The Ger Lyons trained colt looked a smart sprinter in his first two starts as a juvenile before failing to stay the trip when upped to 7f in the Dewhurst.

Dropping back in both class and trip, he looks the one they have to beat.

Aidan O'Brien could have the answer to the Salsabil Stakes in the form of Concert Hall

Although a winner of just two of her six starts last season, she was campaigned at the highest level and ran one of her better races when beaten just over four lengths in the Fillies Mile on her final start.

Magical Lagoon just a place behind in seventh, potentially has room for further improvement after just the three starts.

Jessica Harrington has her horses in tremendous form at the moment so her representative commands respect.
