Jamie Powell continued his fine season when producing Yokkell with a well-timed run to easily land the Tipperaryraces Apprentice Handicap at Tipperary.

The Jarlath Fahey trained daughter of Fast Company had been very consistent of late, while perhaps, just finding herself a couple of pounds too high in the handicap.

However, with the in-form Powell able to take 4lb off her back here, the three-year-old produced a telling burst of speed inside the final furlong to go away and win her race easily.

Jarlath Fahey said; "she has been very very consistent but when you're that consistent and don't win, you start to worry whether or not it would happen.

"She has shown a nice turn of foot and has been consistent around that trip in three-year-old handicaps. Whether or not she can step up against the older ones, we don't know but we'll find out as the year progresses.

"I wouldn't rule out jumping hurdles with her and the way she won tonight we'll stick to the flat for another while.

"Triona Burbage and a few of her friends from Portarlington own her and I'm delighted for them."
