A last gasp winner of the final race at Fairyhouse last night, even money favourite Female Approach had an easier time of things when turning out again for the 3-y-o handicap over an extended mile and three.

Colin Keane took his time on the Camelot filly, who came with a steady run in the straight to hit the front just inside the furlong marker.

She wasn’t hard pressed from that point, drawing clear to score by two and three quarter lengths from Sea Appeal (15/2).

A profitable 24 hours, indeed, for Patricia Hunt’s filly who’s trained by Noel Meade.

Keane said afterwards: "Chris (Hayes, yesterday's winning jockey) always liked her when he rode her in maidens and said she was a filly who would progress and he was duly right.

"Yesterday she had a light weight and it was nice to get on her today. She likes that good ground and I'd imagine will get further as well."
