The most valuable event of the session at Thurles was the Grade 2 Coolmore National Hunt Sires Irish EBF Mares Novice Chase. In common with the majority of what went before there was further Gigginstown House Stud and Gordon Elliott joy here as their representative Dinaria Des Obeaux prevailed.
At odds of 11/10 Dinaria Des Obeaux brought up a four-timer for Gigginstown and Elliott.
Jack Kennedy rode the daughter of Saddler Maker, and he was also on earlier scorers for the same connections, Pete So High and A Toi Phil
Davy Russell did the needful elsewhere in the maroon and white, on Dortmund Park in the novice hurdle.
In this Grade 2 Russell was on Youcantcallherthat for Denis Hogan, and this one was still in with a squeak going to two out. Russell did well to pick her up off the floor here though, and she eventually just held on for third.
Meanwhile Dinaria Des Obeaux wasn't fluent at the last, but she already had Magic Of Light beaten at that stage and at the line there were eight lengths between them.
"She was entitled to do that on her Drinmore run and forget about her last run as she made a few mistakes and was nearly brought down," commented Elliott.
"It was a good run and it was great for Jack as well as he got a few slaps over Christmas and that's what he needed to get back.

"She won't be going to Cheltenham and I don't think we have to keep her in her own sex - never say never but we'll see as we have a couple of nice mares at the moment. She is a nice mare and has her job done now."
