Beluckyagain completed the number sequence that had developed in her form, as she landed the bumper at Thurles, the Holycross Mares INH Flat Race, scoring under Patrick Mullins for his father Willie (double on the card for him after the win of Urano in the fourth).
Having finished fourth on her debut at Fairyhouse in January of last year, the bay daughter of Old Vic was then well-beaten into third by Upsanddowns at Kilbeggan in August.
She put in a much improved performance on her last start at Listowel in September, finishing second to Theos Well, and she was sent off an 11/4 chance this afternoon (opened at 3/1).
Having tracked the leaders throughout, the Supreme Horse Racing Club owned six-year-old improved on the outside to lead in the early straight, and she was ridden out from there to see off the challenge of Peinemma by two and a half lengths.
The aforementioned runner-up was returned at 16/1 for the father and daughter team of Tim and Niamh Doyle, while Dark Victory was eight lengths back in third at 40/1 under Colin Motherway. Cloudy Rock went off the well-backed 4/5 favourite, having opened at 11/8 this morning with Paddy Power.
The Sean O’Brien trained five-year-old, who won on her sole point-to-point start at Kinsale, attempted to make all under James Carroll, but she had nothing left to offer as they approached the straight for the final time, and she finished a disappointing seventh.
Willie Mullins said afterwards: "It has been a very lucky syndicate and she will go juimping now probably in the staying division, and she is improving nicely all the time.
"She has got a lovely pedigree and she is one to look forward to get to the paddocks at some stage."
After the race Cloudy Rock was examined by the Turf Club Vet and she was found to be post race lame.
