Bible delivered with perfect timing by Latham

Following on from Captain Cullen half-an-hour earlier, Bible Black was another to deliver a race winning challenge down the outside, that run under Keagan Latham taking the attractive Big Bad Bob gelding to success in the Listed Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Star Appeal Stakes at Dundalk.

Ger Lyons trains Bible Black for Anamoine Limited and despite being an easy to back 12/1 shot, none of his rivals could live with his telling late burst. At the line Bible Black was three parts of a length up on Captain Obvious with the well-backed Buffalo Billy the same distance back in third.

Shane Lyons welcomed Bible Black to the number one berth and he said: "We asked Keagan to hold him up to get the trip. He'd been running over five and six furlongs and there was a little doubt about him getting the seven but he is bred to get it.

"It was a masterful ride, Keagan rides this track very well.

"He won well and deserved to get the black-type as he had been threatening all year to get it.

"We weren't overly shocked to see him win but I don't know what's there for him now.

"If something came up he could go for it and he is a very easy sort to keep on the go."
