Biddy The Boss was the game winner of the rated novice chase in Down Royal.

The 6/1 shot forged on after the sixth fence in this extended two mile three race and found plenty for Sean Flanagan on the run-in to prevail by four and a half lengths after being joined at the last. Crossed My Mind the 15/8 favourite, got on terms at the last but had no answer on the run-in and had to settle for second.

Gavin Cromwell 's representative Ger Fox said: "I rode her the last day in Fairyhouse and she wasn't right and burst very badly.

"We gave her a bit of a break and time off and got her back. She was just healthy and fit today, she was bouncing.

"It was an ideal race for her and it worked out ideal. What I loved about her today was she was game and stuck it out.

"She never missed a beat jumping - she was quick and smart. She has done it well.

"She will (make a chaser), she has the scope and she stays two mile two to three miles two. There's plenty of options for her now.

"The yard is on a roll and we'll just keep it going."

On Champion Hurdle winner Espoir D'Allen, he said: "He came home Wednesday and you wouldn't even think he had a race.

"We had a winner in Dundalk last night (Ciao) so Gavin is on a crest of a wave and the whole yard is absolutely booming. It's a great team effort by everyone so we'll just keep going."
