Fairytale Bliss (8/1) took the concluding Visit Waterford Greenway INH Flat Race under Johnny Barry.

The 5-y-o mare by Roderic O’Connor had a good tussle with long-time leader Reverse Polarity before holding that one’s renewed effort by a neck. The 3/1 favourite Knockwilliambridge finished fifth.

The winner had a good debut run when third at Down Royal last summer, after which she was off until running unplaced at Bellewstown earlier this month.

Winning trainer Nigel Slevin said: "She was third first time out. She is a very hot filly and the last day we hadn't killed her with work and she probably needed the run more than we thought.

"We would never have said she was a 'good thing' today but she has improved from her last run and kept at it well.

"I've no plan for her now. She is tricky enough, she is light-framed and takes a bit of minding. We will take our time with her.

"We have twelve in at the moment, a mixture of horses for the Flat and the jumps. None of them are going to Galway, it's too competitive for me there, I prefer the country tracks."
