Brazos showed the benefit of his debut run at Tipperary a fortnight ago when landing the Mac Fuels & General Supplies Maiden at Listowel.

The Rock Of Gibraltar gelding was a 33/1 chance when half a length behind Solo Saxophone last time but reversed those places in this 1m4f event.

Shane Foley ’s mount went off at just 9/2 on this occasion, and headed the aforementioned Solo Saxophone a furlong out before going on to score by three and a quarter lengths. West Coast Time was a further length and a quarter away in third, with the trio finishing a long way clear of the remainder.

Winning trainer John Murphy’s son and assistant George said, “We’re delighted with that as we were worried about the ground. He ran well first time at Tipperary and has come on well from it.”

Foley said, “He was a bit keen the last day at Tipperary and I wanted to get a bit of cover today. He’s come forward well from the run which John’s horses usually do. You can never be sure especially on that ground but he got through it well.”
