The Willie Mullins-trained Burghas landed the odds in style when making virtually all in the thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.

The French import showed promise when third on his Irish debut at Fairyhouse last month, and successfully dropped back to two miles here.

The 4/6 favourite asserted before the final flight, and drew right away on the run-in under Bryan Cooper to beat the always prominent Mr Antolini by nine and a half lengths. Pakman was a further three and a quarter lengths adrift in third.

Cooper subsequently completed a double for his Gigginstown retainer on Road To Respect in the 2m6f maiden hurdle.
