Captain Power recorded his third win from his last four starts as he took the last at the Curragh under Robbie Downey for Eddie Lynam.

Having won his maiden on his seventh start at Fairyhouse he followed up on his handicap debut earlier this month at Leopardstown.

He went down by just a neck last time out again at Leopardstown and he was sent off a 7/1 chance today in the Power family colours made famous by Sole Power and Slade Power.

Settled in mid-division he took closer order from two furlongs out and was ridden to lead as they entered the final furlong, keeping on well in the closing stages to score by three parts of a length.

Snakes And Ladder finished second under Tom Madden for his father Niall at 25/1 while Bainne was three parts of a length back in third under Shane Kelly for Michael O'Callaghan at 6/1 (12's last night and from 8's on-course). Great Wide Open completed the placings a further head back in fourth under Fran Berry for Charles O'Brien while the well-backed 11/2 favourite Ducky Mallon (10's last night and from 7's on-course) finished a disappointing eighth under Ian Queally for Donal Kinsella.
