Gordon Elliott saddled a quick double at Navan as Chirico Vallis ustified odds of 4/7 with considerable ease in the Bective Restaurant Maiden Hurdle.
The French-bred gelding blotted his copybook when previously running out early on at Gowran Park but there was no repeat here as the son of Poliglote sauntered to an impressive success.
Davy Russell had the hot favourite up with the pace throughout in this two-mile event, and he drew clear from before the last for a facile 12 lengths verdict.
King’s War, no match for the winner from two out, took the runner-up spot with Banjo in third.
Elliott said, “On his form he deserved to win that but you could see what he’s been doing (ran out last time). Davy said he gave an exhibition of jumping today.
“It’s possible that he’s better going left-handed. I’m not sure if he’ll run again this season.”
Russell subsequently stood himself down for the remainder of the card due to an arm injury suffered when his mount Baltazar D’Allier fell in the opener.
