Clarcam could be set to tackle Grade 1 company after an impressive victory at Navan this afternoon.

Gordon Elliott 's charge had been no match for Vautour on his chasing debut at the track last month but proved a class act himself this time.

Bryan Cooper was always prominent on the Gigginstown gelding and he went on over the second last fence in the 2m1f novice chase.

The four-year-old, sent off 10/11 favourite, was in command going to the last and coasted home for an easy five-length success over Sizing Codelco

Elliott is now eyeing a rematch with Willie Mullins' star over the Christmas period:-

“It was a good round of jumping. I know he was getting all the weight but it still a good performance.

“I'll have a chat with Michael and Eddie (O'Leary) and see where we go but after that you'd nearly have to look at the Grade 1 at Leopardstown over Christmas.

“Willie's horse looks unbeatable but the fences still have to be jumped and you can't be afraid of one horse.”
