Jockey Ross Coakley completed a double at Dundalk this evening when producing the Adrian Murray trained Captain Cullen (25/1) to win the concluding Floodlit Friday Nights At Dundalk Handicap under an enterprising front-running ride.

The eight year old son of Strategic Prince was today registering his ninth career win and having built up a clear lead entering the home straight, in the end was all out to hold off Spring Garden by half a length.

Winning owner and trainer Adrian Murray's wife Lisa Murray later revealed “that wasn't plan A but Ross used his head and gave him a great ride. He did it well in the end.

“He's a good horse and that's nine he's after winning for us over the years.

“The plan was to give him a break as he's in a while; he ran during the summer and won one for us at the Curragh and the plan was to give him a break and we'll probably stick to it.”
