Shopping Around followed up a course win here just six days ago when taking the Kilmolash (QR) Handicap Hurdle at Clonmel.

Jamie Codd was a late replacement for the ill Keith Donoghue on the Jim Dreaper-trained mare last week and Codd again gave the six-year-old a patient ride in this 2m3f event restricted to amateur riders.

The 100/30 chance challenged the front-running favourite Shantou Sisu at the penultimate flight and led approaching the last.

However, she really tied up in the closing stages on the very testing ground and just held off the renewed effort of the market leader by a short-head.

Plentiful kept on one paced a further two lengths back in third.

Dreaper's son and assistant Tom said, "She got 6lbs from the handicapper for winning and carried a 5lbs penalty but ran today as it was her last chance to run in a 0-95 and had nothing to do with being 1lb well-in.

"She wants soft ground, is in good form and rather than waiting until the summer tracks kick in, that's why she is here today.

"She'll have a break now and will jump a fence then. We mightn't play around too long over hurdles and an extra mile on top of today's trip might also be a help to her.

"There were very little instructions and it was once again down to that man on board."
