Coffeemeanscoffee (16/1, from 20s on course) took the first division of the Naas Racecourse Handicap for Enniscorthy trainer Willie Martin and jockey Killian Leonard.

The four-year-old filly by Elzaam needed plenty of stoking but responded well to outpoint Little Camacho (6/1) up the final hill and beat that one by three-quarters of a length. Scream (12/1) and Sabrina Fairchild (9/2) filled the other placings, while the well-backed favourite Captain Power (5s into 11/4 on course) finished back in fifth.

The winner, sporting first-time blinkers, had a good run behind Powersville on her previous visit to Naas and had been second at Bath in early July.

She was getting off the mark on her tenth career outing.

Mick Martin, assistant to his father Willie, said: “She was badly drawn at Fairyhouse and she wants a little juice in the ground and got it today. She is what she is and we got her head in front.”
