Cork Harbour prevailed in a driving finish to the BBQ Race Evening Friday June 7th Handicap at Clonmel this evening. Summer's Dream cut out the running in the extended nine-furlong contest and was joined passing the two pole by Misty Millie and Cork Harbour.

It was the Ken Condon-trained filly who gained a narrow advantage inside the final furlong and stayed on well in the closing stages to record a half length win under Billy Lee.

The winner, sent off the 2/1 faviourite, was going one better than on her seasonal reappearance when she had chased home Jon Ess at Cork 11 days ago.

"She is still lightly raced and after her run at Cork you could see she had her chance today,” said Condon.

"Billy said he had to use up a little bit to get a good position as being drawn 13 here you're behind the eight ball straightaway. He said she won in spite of the way the race went and he was happy with her and said she'd stay 1m4f.

"She is very well bred and had a few runs before coming to us and to win with her is important. Hopefully she can win again and 1m4f will be no trouble to her."
