The spring festivals are looming large on the agenda for everyone in the racing world and trainer Gavin Cromwell has plenty to look forward to.

There are many exciting horses in the Champion Hurdle winning handler's team, including Darver Star, Flooring Porter and Letsbeclearaboutit.

“I’m leaning towards the Marsh at Cheltenham with Darver Star and if not we’ll probably go for the Grade 1 at Fairyhouse," said Cromwell.

“He was disappointing the last day at Leopardstown and then kept on late in the straight. A few of mine were not running well around that weekend and the ground is important to him as well.

“Flooring Porter is on track for the Stayers Hurdle. My main worry is the lack of a running rail at Cheltenham as he is a bit quirky.

“He’s not ungenuine but could do with the guidance of a running rail as he can run about a bit. He went a bit left one day at Gowran Park and again after jumping the last at Leopardstown last time.

“Letsbeclearaboutit is 50/50 for Cheltenham. He will work at the weekend but he had a hard race the last day and has been beaten by both of the favourites, so we have to decide do we really want to take them on again.

“We could wait a go for the winners’ race at Fairyhouse over Easter.”
