Dancing On My Own will have a dress rehearsal for the Cheltenham festival next March in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle on Friday.

Henry de Bromhead is hopeful that the recent Wexford winner, who is owned by race sponsor Sean Mulryan, can be a contender for the big prize at the festival in March.

The Milan gelding was fourth to Klassical Dream in Grade 1 company at Leopardstown last season but subsequently disappointed when pulled up in the Coral Cup at Cheltenham.

He remains a novice for this season and opened his account over timber with an effortless success at Wexford last month.

“He'll run on Friday in the Ballymore Novice Hurdle,” said de Bromhead.

“We said we'd run him in good novices last year, which we did, and if he won one happy days, if not we'd have him as a novice for this year and that's how it turned out.

“He has very good form, obviously over two miles, but with the Mulryans owning him we'd love to see if he'd be a contender for the Ballymore.

“Friday suits, as we have the same course and distance. It'll be a good tester to see and if not we can drop back to two again where we know he's good.”
