For the connections of Champion Chase heroine, Put The Kettle On, An Taibhse (evens favourite) completed a brace for Henry de Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore in the Kilbegganraces.com Maiden Hurdle (division one).

Earlier on the mark with The Cathal Don An Taibhse (a name which translates across as ‘The Ghost’) convincingly accounted for the gambled-on Onehundredpercent (6/5) by four and a half lengths.

Equalling her best seasonal total of 90, Blackmore is now five off Paul Townend in the race to be champion jockey.

She said: “She had two lovely runs on heavy ground and she really enjoyed the better ground today.

“These colours (the One For Luck Racing Syndicate) have had a great year and if this one is half as good as Put The Kettle On she’ll be going well.”

Put The Kettle On runs at Sandown tomorrow, with Blackmore aboard Ornua in same race.

B. Browne, rider of Pugin Hall trained by Michael Maguire, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst a blood vessel in running.

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Pugin Hall, trained by Michael Maguire, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be have had blood at the nostrils post race as a result of exercise induced pulmonary haemorrhage.
