Henry De Bromhead registered a first Irish flat winner of the season at Limerick today as his Cape Islay (22/1) landed the Limerick Racecourse Handicap under jockey Wayne Lordan.

Lismore provided last season's all-conquering jumps trainer with a Group 3 win in the Henry II Stakes at Sandown on May 27 and today Cape Islay provided De Bromhead with a 15th win from the past 21 days when beating Shamad by 2.25L

Afterwards Lordan stated “she has been running well without winning and has hit the cross-bar a few times. She was bouncing going out today and Henry said he felt she was in good shape. She had her turn today and won nicely.”
