Voyageofdiscovery just held on to land the spoils in the second division of the seven-furlong handicap at Gowran.

Thomond O'Mara 's charge was following up another narrow success at Limerick last week when he had just got up for a head win.

The 9/2 shot travelled well, under Tom Madden, to hit the front under two furlongs from home today but was all out at the line as No Approval ran on.

They flashed past the post together but Voyageofdiscovery had his head down on the right stride to gain a head victory.

Madden said afterwards:- "I thought I'd held on alright. Thomond said to give him a chance of coming home well and that's what I did.

"I gave him a squeeze and he latched through, racing on between the gap, and that meant I got there way too early. Thankfully the line came in time."
